How do they develop stages evident on offense

1: According to Martz’s offense, both watching it in practice with the Bears and with other teams he’s coached, especially the cheap St. Louis Ram jerseys

: First of all, you have to have the quarterback and you have to have intelligence in every phase. That means the offensive line has to make the transition in blocking schemes against different blitzes. It’s important for every phase to be smart because the smarter you are, the more you can expand the options this offense has.The receivers and running backs have to be able to read from the point when they call the play in the huddle until they actually run the play.

2: Speaking of the offensive line, what  expectations for that unit?

TT: Chris Williams has a chance to be the best left tackle in the division, which is really important whenever you’re trying to put together an offense that needs protection. But I also believe that when [offensive line coach] Mike Tice comes in here and evaluates the talent, everybody is starting from ground zero. He doesn’t have an opinion of anyone other than probably a guy like Olin Kreutz who has been a perennial Pro Bowler. I think the other guys are jockeying for position. When you look at some of the young guys such as Johan Asiata, Lance Louis and James Marten, they have the ability to play in the NFL jerseys. But their talent has to be cultivated by Tice.

Some outsiders have criticized the Bears wide receivers, while Martz has predicted that they could emerge as the strength of the team.

TT: They do have the opportunity to be the strength of the team. When you look at Johnny Knox, Devin Aromashodu and discount Devin Hester jerseys, you have three candidates who are going to really provide a spark. And you could have another guy emerge out of that group that catches Martz’s attention. Let me also include the tight ends and the running backs because I think they’re going to be an important factor as well.

LM: How much better is the Bears defense with supply Julius Peppers jerseys and Chris Harris joining the unit and Brian Urlacher returning after missing most of last season with an injury?

TT: I think the defensive front seven has a chance to be as good as there is in the league. You can talk about Julius and Brian, but one of the guys that I was most impressed with throughout the OTAs was Tommie Harris. If Brian and Lance Briggs stay healthy, you’ll have a darned good defense. The biggest question to me is the secondary. There are candidates, but do you have four [quality starters] back there? When you ask that question, you don’t just look at the DBs. You have to look at the division as well with the Packers, Vikings and Lions and what they can potentially do in the passing game.

Chicago Bears Affairs: Is Chicago Playoff-Bound in 2010?

"There's always next year."

A phrase Chicago Bears' fans have come accustomed to for the past three years. A phrase, the Chicago Bears jerseys fans don't want to hear next year.

It's make or break time for Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith. The Bears missed the playoffs for the third time since 2006, after a magical Super Bowl jerseys run.

Following a superb offseason that was full of key acquisitions, the Bears players and staff are flying sky-high right now.

The question is, will Chicago keep flying into the depths of the best or fail miserably?

Well, Bears' tourists, it's either going to be really good—or really bad.

The 2009 season was full of massive question marks hovering over certain, yet key positions.

Through observations of the ups and downs, here's a checklist of what caused problems in 2009:

  • A poor secondary performance
  • Lack of pass rush
  • Inconsistent defensive and offensive line play
  • No intensity whatsoever
  • Matt Forte's injury

Well, Urlacher is back. No matter what age he is, the defensive star will bring leadership, passion, and above all become a locker room influence once again.

Charles Tillman is coming off an injury last year, Zackary Bowman is underrated and should be a ball-hawk next season, Major Wright resembles a smaller and skinnier Mike Brown, and the addition of hard-hitting vet Chris Harris should help mightily.

cheap Julius Peppers jerseys will demand double-teamage, therefore freeing up the once All-Pro Tommie Harris. Mark Anderson has a quicker first step compared to Adewale Ogunleye or Alex Brown, and should be hungry to prove himself similar to his 2006 performance. If Harris can stay healthy, you're looking at one of the nastiest lines in all of football.

The offensive line is by far the biggest area of concern.

Josh Beekman, a young left guard, deserves the starting spot. He has the ability to run weak-side pitches and pulls with authority.

Olin Kreutz and Roberto Garza are two veterans that should pave the way for young tackles Chris Williams and Frank Omiyale.

While the offensive line seemed to gel within the final few games of the 2009 season, they still display concern.

Omiyale looked very sharp in preseason last season, yet failed to produce at left guard. Bears' coach Lovie Smith has stated he shows signs of productivity at his natural right tackle position.

With Matt Forte back from knee and leg damage, everyone wonders if he'll return to his rookie form of quick and intense running.

Martz should assist the young receivers greatly, therefore opening up the pass for Cutler and hopefully holes for Forte.

Come to think of it, the Tulane product should have a more active role in the passing aspect, creating mismatches with linebackers and safeties to utilize his strength—getting in open space with the ball.

In response to the proposed question, the Chicago Bears looked like a very polished and underrated team coming into 2010. There is a great chance of a playoff caliber squad next year.

Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back Depth: Who Makes the Cut?

The once vaunted Steelers hot jerseys  rush attack, which has always been known for its physicality and toughness, has fallen on hard times as of late.

There are many things that anyone can point to as being the reasons: having a great quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger discount jerseys, the pass happy offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, "Fast" Willie Parker's jerseys finesse style, the struggling offensive line, etc.

Fans and owners alike have been screaming to get back to Pittsburgh Steelers wholesale jerseys football, which means more of a commitment to the running game this season. With management getting increasingly impatient and Big Ben hot jerseys being suspended for at least four games this season, the Steelers running game will be leaned on more than ever this season.

This means the running back battle in camp this offseason will be amped up and more intense than in recent years.

This is how I believe this battle will play out and who will make the cut to help the Steelers get back to dominating teams on the ground.

Smith: "This is a good football team"

After the final session at the team's voluntary Organized Team Activities, Bears hot jerseys coach Lovie Smith expressed confidence in his 2010 squad.

Asked if the Bears can compete for a playoff spot, Smith said, "Well, as far as compete, that's not our goal.

"We have the same goal we have every year, and that's win the Super Bowl wholesale. Win the world championship. It's early on. But I just like the look of this football team. We know what a good football team looks like, and this is a good football team."

Smith overhauled his coaching staff and added several players at key positions this off-season. Smith said Wednesday represented the team's 13th practice together, and he highlighted the strong attendance from veterans at the voluntary workouts.

Veteran linebacker Brian Urlacher cheap jerseys and Brian Urlache discount jerseys were among those absent Wednesday, but both were regulars for most of the previous workouts.

The Bears were encouraged to get Pro Bowl jerseys center Olin Kreutz back on the field Wednesday. Kreutz took some snaps at center, his first action since he had surgery in January to repair an Achilles tendon.

Smith said the only "downer" was not having new tight end Brandon Manumaleuna, who has been recovering from minor knee surgery.

"If there's a downer, it's that," Smith said. "But the next time we get together for training camp, we should have all of our players ready to go then."

Smith said the offense is progressing but that "we like where we're at, at this stage."

Houston Texans 2010 NFL Predictions, NFL Picks & 2011 Superbowl Odds

Houston Texans 2010 NFL Predictions, NFL  jerseys Picks & 2011 Superbowl Odds: The Houston Texans finally believe that they have all of the pieces in place to make an appearance in their first postseason after last season's franchise best 9-7 record. Houston has few weak spots on their roster and look like they can compete at the top level of the mean AFC South. Below is a closer look at the 2010 Houston Texans from our NFL Picks team of experts.

The 2011 Superbowl Odds on the Houston Texans is at +3000 at SPORTSBETTING.COM

NFL Predictions Offense: Houston has an excellent passing attack led by All-Pro QB Matt Schaub. The Texans have lots wrinkles to their passing game with the ability to dice teams up with short throws or hit the home run off with the deep ball to dominant WR Andre Johnson. Johnson is a one man wrecking crew that is arguably the best at his position. Houston has some of the best wideouts in the NFL as a unit and run the play-action better than any team in the leauge. The O-line and running attack are mediocre and could be the deciding factor to how far this team goes. The Houston Texans AFC South Odds have Houston at +300 on the NFL Betting money line.

NFL Predictions Defense: The Texans 4-3 defense is a formidable bunch of young talent that could finish in the top-10 this season. The front seven is tough against the run and boasts three impact players in DE Mario Williams and LB's Brian Cushing and DeMeco Ryans. The secondary looks shaky but rookie #1 draft pick CB Kareem Jackson who could be a shutdown coverman.

Coaching/Special Teams: Mike Shannhan disciple Gary Kubiak is a players coach that is in the upper-echelon of sideline bosses. Special team look to be above-average overall but have had inconsistency at placekicker.

NFL Picks: Houston Texans 2010 NFL Power Rankings 1-10 Scale

Coaching: 8 (x200%)
QB: 8 (x400%)

the introduction of Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the NFC North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The team is legally and corporately registered as Chicago Bears Football Club, Incorporated.

The Bears have won nine professional American football league championships (eight NFL Championships and Super Bowl XX). The Bears have the most enshrinees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with 26 members. The Bears have also recorded more regular season and overall victories than any other NFL franchise. The franchise recorded its 700th win on December 7, 2008.[2][3][4]

The club was founded in Decatur, Illinois, in 1919[5], and moved to Chicago in 1921. Along with the Arizona Cardinals (originally from Chicago), it is one of only two remaining franchises from the NFL's jerseys founding. The team played home games at Wrigley Field on Chicago's North Side through the 1970 season. With the exception of the 2002 season, they have played their home games at Chicago's Soldier Field every year since 1971. The stadium is located next to Lake Michigan, and was recently remodeled in a modernization intended to update stadium amenities while preserving a historic Chicago structure. The team has a fierce, long-standing rivalry with the Green Bay Packers, whom they have played 178 times. The Bears currently hold the edge in head to head match ups with a record of 90–82–5.[6]

The team headquarters, Halas Hall, is in the Chicago suburb of Lake Forest, Illinois. The Bears practice at adjoining facilities there during the season. They hold their annual training camp from late July to mid-August at Ward Field on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

History of the Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens came into existence in 1996 when Art Modell, then owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced his intention to relocate his team from Cleveland to Baltimore. The controversy ended when representatives of Cleveland and the NFL jerseys reached a settlement on February 8, 1996. The agreement stipulated that the Browns' name, colors, uniform design and franchise records would remain in Cleveland. The franchise history included Browns club records and connections with Pro Football Hall of Fame players. A new team to begin play in 1999 would be regarded as the "reactivated" Cleveland Browns. Modell's Baltimore team, while retaining all current player contracts, would officially be the expansion team, a "new franchise."[1]  Not all players, staff or front office would make the move to Baltimore, however.

Modell relocated the team and hired Ted Marchibroda as head coach. Marchibroda was already well known because of his work as head coach of the Baltimore Colts during the 1970s and the Indianapolis Colts during the early 1990s. Ozzie Newsome, the Browns' tight end for many seasons, joined Modell in Baltimore as director of football operations. He was later promoted to Vice President/General Manager.

The home stadium for the Ravens first two seasons was Baltimore's Memorial Stadium, home field of the Baltimore Colts years before. The Ravens moved to their own new stadium at Camden Yards in 1998. Raven Stadium would subsequently wear the names PSI Net Stadium and then M&T Bank Stadium.

In the 1996 NFL Draft, the Ravens, with two picks in the first round, drafted offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden at #4 overall and linebacker Ray Lewis at #26 overall. Both players would go on to have Hall of Fame-caliber careers for the Ravens.

The 1996 Ravens won their opening game against the Oakland Raiders. However, they would not keep this momentum for long, and they finished 4-12. One other highlight of the season was their trip to Indianapolis to play the Colts (who won 26-21). This game was aired on TNT, and was the first such game following the closure of the acquisition of TNT parent Turner Broadcasting System by Time Warner, only three days earlier.

The 1997 Ravens started 3–1. Peter Boulware, a rookie defender from Florida State, recorded 11.5 sacks and was named AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year. The team finished 6–9–1. On October 26, the team made its first trip to Landover, Maryland to play their new regional rivals, the Washington Redskins, for the first time in the regular season, at the new Jack Kent Cooke Stadium (replacing the still-standing RFK Stadium in Washington, DC). The Ravens won the game 20-17.

Quarterback Vinny Testaverde left for the New York Jets before the 1998 season and was replaced by former Indianapolis Colt Jim Harbaugh, and later Eric Zeier. Cornerback Rod Woodson joined the team after a successful stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Priest Holmes started getting the first playing time of his career and ran for 1,000 yards. The Ravens finished 1998 with a 6–10 record. On November 29, the Ravens welcomed the Colts back to Baltimore for the first time in 15 years. Amidst a shower of negative cheers towards the Colts, the Ravens won 38-31.

Three consecutive losing seasons under Marchibroda led to a change in the head coach. Brian Billick took over as head coach in 1999. Billick had been offensive coordinator for the record-setting Minnesota Vikings the season before. Quarterback Tony Banks came to Baltimore from the St. Louis Rams and had the best season of his career with 17 touchdown passes and an 81.2 pass rating. He was joined by receiver Qadry Ismail, who posted a 1,000-yard season. The Ravens struggled early starting 3-6 but managed to finish with an 8–8 record.

Due to continual financial hardships, the NFL directed Modell to initiate the sale of his franchise. On March 27, 2000, NFL owners approved the sale of 49% of the Ravens to Bisciotti. In the deal, Bisciotti had an option to purchase the remaining 51% for $325 million in 2004 from Art Modell. On April 9, 2004 the NFL approved Steve Bisciotti's purchase of the majority stake in the club.

Rams Still Favorites for Atogwe; Dolphins in Pursuit

The St. Louis Rams remain the favorites to sign safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, even after their failure to reach a contract agreement with him Tuesday night allowed him to become a free agent, according to two sources familiar with the situation. One of the sources, who has spoken with Rams management in recent days, said negotiations between the sides have remained amicable even in the absence of an agreement. And even though the Miami Dolphins are making a strong push, the environment remains favorable for a deal that would return Atogwe to St. Louis.

The Rams want Atogwe back. They just didn't want to pay him the $6.976 million tender it would have taken to keep him off the open market. The two sides negotiated right up until the Tuesday night deadline and continued to speak Wednesday, and they may eventually come to a deal that pays Atogwe less than $6.976 million but more than the $1.226 million St. Louis offered. The risk, of course, is that now another team can come in and beat the offer, and the second source said Miami was motivated to do so.

What didn't happen Wednesday was the flood of offers for which Atogwe and his agent had been hoping to help them with their leverage. Teams such as the
Cowboys, Lions, 49ers, Eagles and even the ever-active Jets had been thought of as potential suitors, but none of those teams appeared to be making a serious pursuit Wednesday. One of the sources said the Minnesota Vikings remained a possibility, but that it appeared to be a contest between the Rams and Dolphins, with the Rams in the lead.

Atogwe is three weeks short of his 29th birthday and coming off an injury-plagued 2009 in which a shoulder problem cost him the final four games of the season. In the first 12 games, however, he was an effective and consistent defensive player. The Rams have precious few of those, which is why they remain interested in bringing him back. But they're also going to need plenty of money to sign No. 1 overall pick Sam Bradford, so they couldn't afford to spend $7 million on a 29-year-old safety coming off shoulder injury.

Jones: No guarantee release won't come

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Jerry Jones made it clear Wednesday the Dallas Cowboys have no plans to grant wide receiver Patrick Crayton's request to be released.

At least not right now.

Jones said Wednesday he hasn't considered cutting Crayton, who would rather be given a chance to catch on with another team now than just before the season begins. However, Jones offered no guarantee Crayton's fear of being cut after training camp wouldn't come true.

"We've got a lot of good receivers out here," Jones said after the Cowboys' OTA practice at Cowboys Stadium. "Patrick is a good receiver. You see where the numbers are. You know that ultimately all of that has to come into consideration from the team's standpoint."

Crayton, who doubts that the Cowboys will be willing to pay his $2 million salary to serve as the team's No. 4 receiver, privately requested to be released weeks ago via agent Fred Lyles. He went public with his request on ESPN 103.3's Ben and Skin Show last week.

"To me, you're messing with people's careers and people's lives," Crayton said, referring to the possibility of being used as insurance until getting cut after training camp.

Crayton continued his absence from the team's organized team activities Wednesday. He has not participated in the team's voluntary workouts since the Cowboys traded up to draft receiver Dez Bryant in the first round. Crayton said during his radio appearance that he would report to Valley Ranch for the mandatory minicamp from June 12-14.

Jones was generally complimentary of Crayton, saying the receiver "has done everything we asked him to do" to become a productive NFL player. However, Jones firmly pointed out that he's operating within the bounds of the four-year, $14 million contract Crayton signed in December 2007, a deal that has already paid Crayton $8.5 million.

"There's nothing to be confused about," Jones said. "Patrick is under contract, and this is a voluntary workout. When we have mandatory workouts, he'd probably be the first one in line to be here. That's the way that it is. There really is no confusion here.

"You can chart down our roster and start going over what-ifs. Nothing would be gained from the Cowboys to go over many what-ifs all the way down our roster."

Tim MacMahon covers the Cowboys for ESPNDallas.com. You can follow him on Twitter or leave a question for his weekly mailbag.

NFL to meet with concussion experts Wednesday

The NFL will take another step in its concussion-treatment efforts Wednesday during a league-sponsored seminar at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Medical personnel from all 32 teams, other doctors and Pentagon officials will be in attendance to hear from people Dr. Richard Ellenbogen described as "the best experts in the country arguably in the field of memory and cognitive issues."

"They're going to go over all the data and information concerning the long-term effects of traumatic brain injuries in football players," Ellenbogen told me and co-host Jim Miller on Sirius NFL Radio.

Ellenbogen and Dr. Hunt Batjer are the new co-chairmen of the NFL's head, neck and spine committee. Their focus is making professional football safer while also trying to help retired players who suffered brain damage during eras where concussion diagnosis and treatment was neglected.

"This new committee is having a very open mind," Ellenbogen said. "We need to understand what the risks are."

Ellenbogen and Batjer are also emphasizing a split from past research that has come under heavy fire from critics for being inaccurate, incomplete and/or ethically compromised. The New York Times reported Tuesday night that both doctors requested Dr. Elliot Pellman not speak at the symposium. Pellman, the former chairman of the NFL's concussion committee, has since bowed out for what was described as a family reason.

"It's not about Elliot," Batjer told the Times. "It's about a complete severance from all prior relationships from that committee."

Ellenbogen and Batjer were taken to task last week when speaking before a House Judiciary Committee. Besides having to answer for the NFL concussion committee's past failures, Ellenbogen and Batjer were criticized for not having a stronger role in gathering information about equipment like helmets.

Ellenbogen said on Sirius that his committee was "absolutely on the cutting edge of studying helmet technology." That includes analyzing helmets worn by race-car drivers and soldiers. The U.S. military also should benefit from such research when it comes to helping treat and protect the armed forces.

"We need to know what kind of helmet technology will prevent concussions, but that's only part of the picture," said Ellenbogen, the former chief of neurosurgery at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. "The NFL wants this committee to look at the 'return to play' (rules) and dissect them carefully. They also want us to go to the best researchers in the world and ask what is it that we need to do that we're not doing to protect the player and make it safer. Sit them out longer? Are there cognitive exercises they can do to heal better? All that (research) is being done at the same time."

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell enacted stronger concussion rules last fall after speaking before a government committee. Players are now prevented from re-entering a game if they have suffered a concussion and need medical clearance before returning to the field. Franchises also were forced to add outside neurologists for consultation purposes.
